Matthew 10:32-33: “So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.” Baptism seals the decision to trust Christ since it is public. It is also a picture of our decision to die to our old life and our coming to life through the new identity we now have through Jesus! Romans 6:1-4 says this: “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”
Jesus hand picked 12 men who wrote or through their direct influence wrote the whole New Testament. Acts 2:42 says this: “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” Studying the scripture helps us to take advantage of what God has already said to His people in the past and helps us to personally grow. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says this: “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
Through trusting Christ, we have a relationship with the Lord is our father. Romans 8:15 says: “…but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!'” Since we are sons of God through faith in Jesus, we can and should talk to Him who is Lord of all and cares for us more than we can fully understand!
God’s people are all a family and therefore we should serve Him AS a family. Romans 12:5 says: “so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” Galatians 3:28 says this: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Those who have trusted Christ and His finished work ARE His family locally and ALL over the world!
Since growing is becoming what the Lord Jesus wants us to become, then one of the biggest areas of obedience to Him is that of sharing with others the Good News of what Jesus has done for us. He told us to make disciples of all the nations and that cannot happen unless we open our mouth about what he has done for us. If he changed your life then we must share with others that He can change their life!
This is an important decision that you have decided to make! It would be very good to tell someone now making it a solid move in your life toward Jesus. We would like to know of your decision to trust Christ as your Lord and Savior by clicking the button below.
